Local DescriptionPp. [2 - errata], [2 - contents], xvii, 218, [6]. Original full mottled calf. Turner (1710-1798) was a Baptist minister, living and preaching in Abingdon from 1748 until his death. Now known largely has a hymn writer, he wrote several works in the late 18th C on religion, morals and instruction on how to live a virtuous life. The letters, first published in 1766, were written for the son of a friend who was setting out for India. A very good copy in original condition of this book of instruction.
