The Ancient History of the Maori, his Mythology and Traditions. Vol VI Tai-Nui.  A monumental work on the full history of the Maori, their customs, language, warfare etc. Started during White's life in the Hokianga as a Government interpreter. Governor Grey commission the work on the proviso that it had an English translation. The work was published gradually to mixed reviews.

Volume 6 (dealing with Tai-Nui) only of the original six volume set pp. x,264,70, Plates Tables Original cloth. One volume of this rare set, which many other works have used as source material. In Maori and English. A little foxing to endpapers and edges, otherwise a fine copy of volume 6 of this historic work.
