Description

A Memoir of the Honourable George Keith Elphinstone. Elphinstone (1746-1823; Lord Keith) served in the American War in the 1780s, and after10 years ashore in Parliament, sailed again, serving in South Africa and India. During the Napoleonic Wars, he was Commander in Chief in the Mediterranean in 1800, and in the North Sea in 1803. He was involved in the surrender of Napoleon in 1815. A handsome copy of this fulsome work.
